ESG skills landscape analysis and identification of best practices

Introduction

The main objectives of this work package are:

To collect information and analyze the state of the art of ESG initiatives in Europe, including information about ESG projects, regulations, and skills.
To collect specific knowledge on current ESG trends and related future challenges in the financial sector with an emphasis on the impact of ESG trends, ESG projects, and ESG investments on financial organizations and fintech.
To analyze the needs of financial sector organizations concerning ESG projects and investments, including needs associated with processes like risk assessment, auditing, ESG portfolio management, and more.
To identify existing gaps in ESG knowledge and the ESG training market with emphasis on the needs of fintech and other financial organizations. In this direction analysis of the ESG market with emphasis on skills will be carried out, which will enable the project to optimally design and properly position the Train4ESG program in the European market of ESG training and skills.
To design a training program that can effectively address the identified needs of fintech and financial sector enterprises concerning ESG training, while covering the identified gaps.

Skills and Market Analysis on ESG

The document contains a brief overview of the existing training programs offered by various institutions within the EU as well as a short overview of the results of the survey conducted by the TalTech team aiming to identify the skills gaps in the fast-growing ESG segment of the digital finance market. The skills needed for understanding, assessing, validating and monitoring ESG assets and ESG investments were identified, with an emphasis on skills that are not adequately addressed by existing courses, professional training programs and certifications.
